While I haven’t yet joined any of the various Veterans’ organizations, locally, since the move, I want to take a moment, (before 11:11 today), to THANK ALL of my brothers and sisters at arms who ever wore a uniform and survived.<\/p>\n
It may sound trite, but, there was a day when each of us “wrote a check payable to the United States of America for any amount, up to and including our lives”.<\/p>\n
As for myself in regards to the oath I took all those years ago, I do NOT consider that check voided.
\nAs is true for so many of us, I stand ready, willing and (okay, a little less), ABLE to do it again. You’re WORTH IT, My Country T’is Of Thee, Sweet Land Of Liberty”. <\/p>\n
So are all of those who wrote the same check and we cashed it.<\/p>\n
