{"id":811,"date":"2012-03-18T15:43:46","date_gmt":"2012-03-18T20:43:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/politicalqrm.com\/?p=811"},"modified":"2012-03-18T15:43:46","modified_gmt":"2012-03-18T20:43:46","slug":"baruch-atah-eretz-ysroel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/politicalqrm.com\/?p=811","title":{"rendered":"Baruch atah eretz Y&#8217;sroel&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 id=\"internal-source-marker_0.06322841158129833\">Happens all the time\u2026<\/h3>\n<p>The part I really wanted to touch on was Israel.\u00a0 On the off-chance you didn\u2019t know it, I am a bit of a Zionist.\u00a0 Maybe a touch less than Ben Gurion was, but only a touch.<\/p>\n<p>The President of the United States decided to advise Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that\u00a0 the Nation of Israel, &#8220;Eretz Y\u2019sroel\u2019s&#8221; borders were \u201cunsustainable\u201d and that they should consider falling back to the pre-1967-war borders.\u00a0 He made these remarks during a speech that demonstrated his support for a Palestinian \u201chomeland\u201d.\u00a0 The biggest problem I have here is that it presupposes, in the global view, AMERICA\u2019S support for that proposal.\u00a0 It is not only a point-of-view that I do not share, it is one that \u201cWe The People\u201d by and large do not share. \u00a0More recently, Prime Minister Netanyahu reminded the president that \u201c&#8230;Our capacity is such that we are the masters of our destiny, and many friends are with us\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The State of Israel was formed by an instrument of the United Nations.\u00a0 (UNSCOP, 29NOV47).\u00a0 In my mind, it is one of only a HANDFUL of things that body has done right in it\u2019s entire history.\u00a0 Since the day it was formed that same organization has done it\u2019s best to undo it\u2019s own decree\u2026vote after vote, resolution after resolution, the United Nations has been a stolidly ANTI-Israeli organization for decades.\u00a0 They\u2019re even more anti-Israel than they are anti-United States.\u00a0 That&#8217;s a good stretch of road, there.<br \/>\nSo ever since that day there has been conflict with the Arab world, and a great deal of that conflict has been based in the idea that the Palestinian people should have a \u201chomeland\u201d too.\u00a0 Okay.\u00a0 Wait.\u00a0 What exactly IS a \u201cPalestinian\u201d?\u00a0 Well, the short answer is identical to the long; making my job much easier.\u00a0 They are Arabs.\u00a0 They are Arabs who inhabit a geographical region known as Palestine.\u00a0 That\u2019s it.\u00a0 The only difference between an Arab in the United Arab Emirates and an Arab \u201cPalestinian\u201d is location.\u00a0 Genetically they are Arabs.\u00a0\u00a0 There is no race called \u201cPalestinian\u201d.\u00a0 There is no hereditary genetic \u201cPalestinian\u201d code.\u00a0 There is no \u201cPalestinian\u201d religion.\u00a0 There is no \u201cPalestinian\u201d language.\u00a0 Long, short and every point along the line, they are Arabs.<\/p>\n<p>For the Arabs inhabiting Palestine to desire a homeland is nonsense.\u00a0 The area surrounding Israel for a thousand miles\u00a0is inhabited by Arabs.\u00a0 Who speak Arabic.\u00a0 Who live in the aforementioned United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia\u2026JUST to point out the \u201cArab-hood\u201d of those two nations alone\u2026throw in Yemen, Qatar, and the rest and you have all the vast and formidable \u201chomeland\u201d anyone could ever want. I hesitate to think that you believe the \u201chomeland\u201d issue, either.\u00a0 What they truly desire is Israel.\u00a0 Plain and simple.\u00a0 It is ALL that they have wanted since 1947.<br \/>\nI cannot and shall not sit here and tell you that all people in Palestine OR Israel should NOT be entitled to live in peace.\u00a0 The people of either Palestine or Israel who have been living in that area and struggling to make a living and raise their families should be absolutely, positively entitled to live there, in peace.\u00a0 That is the issue.\u00a0 I dare say that it is the earnest desire of the vast majority of all of the people there to do just that.<\/p>\n<p>The problem, once again, is radical Islam.\u00a0 As well as the seeming proclivity of the POTUS to, at the very least, cast a blind-eye towards it and at the worst to endorse it.\u00a0 All of his bloviating in the wake of the\u00a0 Middle-Eastern unrest of 2011 is self-serving.\u00a0 It\u2019s what used to be called \u201coil-smoke &amp; mirrors\u201d.\u00a0 \u00a0He\u2019s under the influence of a reelection-cycle.\u00a0 While he has a billion dollars with which he can try to gain that reelection he has to fight the reputation of his first two-years in office\u2026a period during which the words \u201cradical Islam\u201d and \u201cwar-on-terror\u201d were \u201cnot used\u201d, to put it politely.\u00a0I know that as I sit here typing all of this here for your pleasure, ( or enlightenment or ire\u2026), I am NOT fooled.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happens all the time\u2026 The part I really wanted to touch on was Israel.\u00a0 On the off-chance you didn\u2019t know it, I am a bit of a Zionist.\u00a0 Maybe a touch less than Ben Gurion was, but only a touch.
